Fallout New Vegas early glitches

As a fan of the Fallout series which has tremendously growing popular. I grew into the hype of Fallout New Vegas developed from Obsidian. The developer Obsidian which shared a link to the parent company of Interplay and Black Isle who have brought you the original Fallout and Baldur’s gate and other great titles so forth. I didn’t believe it at first that a new fallout was announce right after the third installment. But in my mind I thought was being handled by a Obsidian so I thought they secretly planned it during Fallout 3 development.

So a day after release I manage to get my hands on the PC version of Fallout New Vegas which my choice was for Mods, Graphics performance and my use to the gameplay of the mouse and keyboard. I’ll eventually pick up a console version when the game hits a lower price or a bundle DLC version.

During my first few hours I noticed a lot things needed improvements already. That bugs were already present in the beginning of the game. That people are finding left and right, I have my share of deals of problems from playing this that I had to wait to play it. Due to unpatched errors. I’m going to list a few glitches here that is found in the game..

Broken Dialogue: The conversations between NPC may not occur directly as the camera usually zooms and pan in first person but you find yourself in a laughable moment.

Auto-save dis function: This was quite frustrating that the game auto save function refused to load latest events. This was avoidable by deleting older auto saves but it sure did come back.

Quest Journal: Sometimes you find yourself confused and unaware what to do. As your progression with the game will not record your quest progress or slow updating.

Infinite XP glitch: People have been experiencing a bug where a conversation or repeat of something could just give a player infinite xp gains.

Luckily when you buy the PC version of the game it registered under Steam service. So the game was infact updated to fix Quest glitches, Auto saves, reload times and Vats. But is it fixed? The game has been getting good scores lately but maybe without the glitches we’ll see a change of heart in scores.

Once I play through my adventures in the post apocalyptic world again, I will probably review this game or give an impression. Even though the game meets some bugs it’ still enjoyable. Just wait a bit!

PS3 Review: Heavy Rain

Indigo Prophecy

For the long line of games for the Playstation 3 games coming out with things starting off with “Heavy Rain” ! For the past few weeks I have been playing this game addictived in high doses and playing for hours in one setting. It is just so amazing, I’ve never really experienced a cinematic thrilling game like this! French developers “Quantic Dream” has done an amazing job and I give them props for making such a great game. You may know Quantic Dream if you played titles like “Indigo Prophecy” on PC, PS2 and Xbox which Heavy Rain has a similar concept and style of play. Indigo Prophecy and Omikron (Nomad Souls on Dreamcast) were good games but always arriving late on generation line. Which gets over run by newer games and people put more focus on that, I’m glad they manage to release Heavy Rain at a good time where they finally get some recognition and honor. This review may contain minor beginning spoilers. Continue reading

What I’ve been playing. 2/14/10

So a lot of good games came out that I bought and some that aren’t so good. So here’s a list of games I have been playing. What I am going to say are my OPINIONS and they shouldn’t mean fact or anything to anyone else. You can have your opinions too but don’t go flaming me about it. Well here I go then…

[Star Ocean: The Last Hope]

I really wanted to play another J-RPG that will satisfy more of my tastes this generation. The second Star Ocean is one of my favorite PSX rpg and Star Ocean Till the end of Time was good too, at their time. I wanted a J-RPG that would make this generation memorable. Well it’s up to Tri-Ace and their new release.

The Last Hope has some very good visuals and character models details. Good real time battle system, explorable galaxy, improved crafting mechanics. The only problem I had with it is the story at times, it’s decent but it isn’t what I’ve expected.

[Left 4 Dead 2]

Left 4 Dead 2 strikes back with new characters, campaign levels, game types and weapons. Yet I get the feeling this is just the same game just like ODST to Halo 3. That Left 4 Dead 2 ideas should of been add on to the first one. I did like how they added more items and hordes that change the tactics of the game. Also not mention competitive online game types, but was it worth money for a game that is just a small glossed up upgrade? Well I recommend this for big L4D fans or people who just want a good online experience to start. Get this game for the PC you will be more satisfied with more of the community content. Well L4D2 was fun and only lasted for a brief amount of time, more like a rent to me. I am sorry everyone that I didn’t enjoy it as much. Good thing I only bought it for 30 dollars….

[Bayonetta]

Well if anyone read my earlier posts or Chronowarp’s blog; I did a review on this game. I gave a good review perhaps I went a little overboard and didn’t really show my true feelings of the game. I was afraid I would get scolded for saying “It’s good but not that great”. Well Bayonetta fighting mechanic and art is truly amazing. I give props to that but it’s a game that you should only at least try once. Okay I may sound like a hypocrite now but I am going to say this… Bayonetta is Overrated to me. Don’t get me wrong its a great hack n slash game but my opinion shouldn’t stop others from playing it. Good gameplay but story was bland, sexual puns and gestures not going to make rate this any higher, has some re-playability but, its just a ride of an action. I just didn’t find it interesting anymore…

[Bioshock 2]

The first Bioshock highly praised and most talk about game this generation. I’m not a big Bioshock fan but, I did enjoyed the first one though. I thought the concept was really original, Story was unique and the art style was good. Everyone seems to go crazy that Bioshock 2 didn’t receive a higher score than the first one and I can see why. Bioshock 2 single player is good but not as good as the first one, it still lack some things that the first game had was better. The more villainous psychopaths that had an immerse interaction scenes and dialogue with them. That’s one thing I really missed like the crazy Mr. Steiner and horrific dreaded setting it fit more into. Which made it why Rapture gone to hell and perfectly made the first game. Bioshock 2 still had good dialogue, a really good emotional story but it still lacked those in game cut scenes I really enjoyed. Over all I still liked Bioshock 2 and it’s still a good game to play and I enjoyed the online multiplayer. I say it’s a game I really recommend.

[Mass Effect 2]

Okay I really enjoy Mass Effect alot and things I’m going to say are going to make sound so fan boyish but I don’t give a crap. ME2 WAS DA BOMB!!! It was a great game and highly improved from the first game. Upgraded graphics engine so less of that slow textures loading especially for 360 gamers, improved battle system and some cool added features. They did some things I didn’t like so much like how its more of a shooter and lost a little bit of it’s rpg elements. The game has more bad ass cutscenes, cool skill system especially with the biotics animation and it was worth my full 60 dollars. This is a game that manages it’s hype to me and I would love to revisit this game many times. Even though it probably took me around 20 -30 hours with some of the side quests done.

PS3 HDMI Problems?

So yeah recently I got upgraded to an Insignia LCD HDTV with 10801i/720p Capabilities. Which is really great, I can finally throw away my Standard TV and go into the High Definition age. I use to game on Component cables on my old LCD Projection Sony HDTV which worked great with it. I didn’t have hdmi on my 360 at the time so I just had my PS3 hooked up through HDMI and everything looked great. No flicker, no bugs, and it didn’t broked down.

So yeah it’s only been a week when I got my Insignia HDTV when all of a suddenly my PS3 decides to flicker and have rainbow effects. Which really concerned me that my PS3 never did this before connected through HDMI. It is really bothering me, so I checked on google, youtube and forums and notice recently that this is not a rare problem. Multiple people been getting the same response.

I know I can always use standard or component but, it bothers me that something is wrong with my PS3 console still. Microsoft had HDMI problems in the beginning but it’s been fixed before and more supported. I tried everything even turning of full colors, super white and tuning down the HD outputs on the PS3. It could be lack of Sony’s firmware, TV or the cables i’m using which I am using more than one HDMI.

Well I can try and make video blog to get responses, See if Sony can help me or try finding some way. Just letting this out and Hoping Sony will look upon this.

Hideki Kamiya the man who brought you Devil May Cry, brings you a new thrilling climatic action packed game Bayonetta!
